Monday Mayhem

Mondays are not my favorite day. I have bus duty every Monday morning and must be at work by 7:30 at the latest, which is a pain, especially on the days Aaron works and I have to take Lynnleigh to the sitter, tacking an extra 40 minutes onto my commute. This was one such Monday... plus I had to give a Math SOL (Virginia's end-of-course tests). The math SOLs last FOR.EV.ER!!!! I was with students that were attempting to finish this test for over 4.5 hours. I can only imagine how much stress they were under! I was not in a good mood. I had only eaten one piece of toast smeared with the smallest amount of peanut butter at 6:40 that morning. I forgot my snacks in my classroom and by 10:30 I was STARVING. By around 1, when I finally got to eat, I devoured all of my lunch and my snacks for the day. I was literally a bottomless pit! Needless to say, any remnants of a diet were long gone before 3 this afternoon.

Lynny was so tired when I woke her up this morning. I always feel bad making her get up that early, but at least I get off earlier than most parents do, which allows us some time to play in the afternoons!

I was pumping my system full of coffee, in my ADORABLE coffee mug that I had designed by LaBoo, my friend Paula's company that she runs with her sister-in-law. They make some awesome things, I will be reviewing some of their products soon!

I went to work and did the SOL/teaching gig. The FFA chapter of our high school was selling flowers, and my Momma and her coworker ordered some. Being the great daughter I am, I delivered the flowers at no charge ;) They were pretty, but I have a severely black thumb and most plants I attempt to grow die within weeks... ok days ;)

I picked up Lynnleigh and she was very excited that I had a snack ready for her when she got to the car!

She reminded me that I did not have her a drink, so we fixed that emergency as quickly as possible before hand-delivering the flowers...

As we were delivering the flowers, I noticed one of my tires was low. I sent a picture to my husband. His response? "Remind me to look at it." He didn't realize that the picture WAS his reminder. He'll probably remember to look at it on his way to work, when he's already late ;)

We made a quick stop at Walmart for a few things and then made our way home to play for a few before Aaron came home. She decided she needed a Frozen notebook to doodle in while she watched T.V. ;)

I did a little research ;)

About 45 minutes before Aaron was suppose to get off, I got a text saying he'd be late. That's a normal occurrence, especially when your husband is in law enforcement. He told me to go ahead and start dinner and he'd just eat when he got home, but I have NO clue how to turn a grill on, so that wasn't going to happen. (I could learn, but then I would have to cook occasionally when we grill. I opt to remain clueless ;) ) Instead of our planned pork chops, Lynny and I split a little pizza. Not the healthiest option, but it was pretty tasty!

I also had another piece of Lynny's birthday cake for dessert. I can't let it go to waste!!

After dinner, Lynny wanted to cook for us, so we spent some time in the playroom.

She thinks we are her own personal jungle gym ;) Clyde is playing shy, which he definitely is!

Then it was bath time and some last minute snuggles before bed!

Monday was a rest day, one that was needed, for sure!! Those 20 miles on Sunday realllllllly got to me! I'll be running 4 miles at some point today, most likely on the treadmill since Aaron has to work. Gotta get my runs in, no matter how it happens!

How long is your commute?

Can you grow flowers?

How far are you running today?
