MONDAY!

Mondays after sick days feel even worse than regular Mondays! I felt better than Sunday, but still not 100%. Let's hope that having one more rest day means I will be back at it today!

Coffee makes any day better, even Mondays. My sweet husband brought me my favorite!

I noticed at lunch that he brought Paula a BIGGER coffee...

He says it was an accident and completely blamed it on Dunkin Donuts for getting the order wrong... I don't believe him.

I had one of my favorite salads for lunch!!

Santa Fe Saladdddd!!

Today I'd like to talk about my running bucket list! There are many races in many places (like that rhyme? ;) ) that I would like to run. Here are my top 10 and the reasons why they are on this list for me, personally!

10. Any of the Hatfield and McCoy races.

Most likely one of the half marathons, as these are designed to be tough. They are also designed to be extremely fun! I have seen some YouTube videos of the race, the spectators are great and the race entertainment is hilarious! They play banjos and make jokes as you pass, it looks like so much fun!

This half is mostly on trails, and the views are suppose to be SPECTACULAR! It also has a KILLER elevation gain (680 ft in the first 1.5 miles!!!), racers are told to add 30 minutes to their average half time to get a good finish estimate. This would be my "challenge myself" run ;)

I don't really need to explain this one, it's in the Bahamas. Although it is a point-to-point course, my LEAST favorite, I think the fact that I'm running in the Bahamas would help me suck it up ;)

This half is in Alaska, a state I've always wanted to visit! It is suppose to have some AWESOME views and it runs partly on a couple of local trails. Plus, it's called the Skinny Raven, my FAVORITE bird! I'm sure I'd love the shirt and medal ;)

I've always wanted to visit London, what better reason than to run a marathon? ;) You get to run along the Thames River and see so many awesome sites, like Westminster and the Tower of London! It would be awesome to run past all of these historic buildings and places!

Hawaii. Need I say more?

The Marine Corps Marathon runs through our nation's Capitol and is known as "The People's Marathon" because it doesn't give out prizes to the winners. It is geared specifically toward normal, everyday runners, not the elites. It is supposedly very well organized and from what I hear, it is a BLAST to run, ending in an uphill climb lined with Marines. Talk about motivation to finish ;)

As a combined runner and teacher of ancient history, this marathon would be a dream to run!! Supposedly, runners retrace the steps of Phiedippides, the man who ran from Marathon to Athens to tell of the victory the Greeks had won over Persia! (I could go into lots of detail about how significant this was, but since this is a running blog, I'll keep the nerd in me at bay ;) ) To run the same route as Phiedippides would be so awesome to this history nerd!! Not to mention, it's in Greece, who doesn't want to go to Greece?!

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Disney World. ALWAYS. I LOVE everything Disney, especially the princesses! Obviously, this would not be a race that I would be concerned about my time. I would stop every time I saw anything picture- worthy ;)

What runner does not want to run in the Boston Marathon?? It's the oldest running marathon, it was first run in 1897, and 2018 will be the 122nd Boston Marathon (The Kosice Marathon, which started in 1924, comes in at number two for the oldest running marathon). I know I'll never hit the time I need to qualify for Boston (3:35- holy moly that is fast!), and raising $5,000 + is required for an entry from a charity. I had to raise $500 for an entry into the Asheville Marathon, and that was hard. I can't imagine raising $5,000! However, a girl can dream, right?!?!

After work, Lynny and I headed to pick up a few things we needed for Mother's Day gifts we are making my mom and Aaron's mom. I'm hoping they LOVE these!

Aaron was at home putting up Lynnleigh's new playset we got her for her birthday. We have had it for a while, but the weather has not cooperated for us to get it built. Hopefully it will be done this weekend! It will be nice to have a set in the backyard instead of having to go out to town every day this summer!

My dad helped, as he always does!!

Lynny and I got started on the presents. Paint, paint, everywhere! No pictures of these things just yet ;)

After they worked on the playground for a few, my dad went home and we put everything we had dragged out of the garage back, including Aaron's motorcycle. Lynnleigh loves it!

I went to go check on the baby birds. I duct taped a piece of cardboard to the windowsill... the babies were falling out! Momma and Daddy bird don't seem to mind, and it keeps me from having to check on them all the time!

Snug as a bug in a rug!

Momma Bird is always close when we look at her babies ;)

Then it was dinner time. Actually, it was past dinner time. We had chicken laid out to fix, but it was almost 8:30, so we grabbed a pizza instead. Lynnleigh was starving, obviously. I had a salad. I LOVE these salads! You get so much for such a great price!

I saved half for lunch, however, it won't be my lunch today. I hit my bad finger (my wedding band finger- I had an accident in December that left it pretty mangled), and immediately dropped my salad due to the pain. I was so sad. What a waste of perfect black olives :(

I checked my countdown-to-marathon app- HOLY SMOKES. Less than 2 weeks!!

How was your Monday?

What would be your dream destination run?

Do you like to make or buy gifts?
