Tuesday Takeback

I've decided to change the way I title my posts. Since I tell you about the day before, I was titling them using that day (so today would have been a Monday title), but that got confusing. So It's a Tuesday title even though it is mostly about yesterday, Monday. I may change back, I may leave it, I will figure it out.
SO! Monday was ok, other than my back issue. It's still hurting. STILL. I'm thinking one more rest day will help, and I will run my scheduled 3 miler tomorrow. Plus, today I have a hair appointment... You don't ruin all the work your hair stylist puts in by running right after your appointment. That's just rude.
Yesterday I had watermelon... I LOVE WATERMELON. I hate cutting it. Luckily, the hubby cut it for me! I'll be eating it for the remainder of the week, or the next two days since I'll be eating it nonstop. Ha!

Billy brought us coffee! My love for Dunkin will never change.

After work, Lynnleigh had a doctor's appointment. She did really well, especially with the length of the wait we had. I love her doctor, however, the wait is ALWAYS terrible. We are there for almost 2 hours every time we go.

We came home and Daddy had to go to work.

She loves watching him leave on the motorcycle, but she pretends to be scared for the first few minutes ;)

Play time outside. We are gearing up for the summer!!

Look at that swing ;)

Playing can wear a girl out...

Her Yum Yum dropped by, she was super excited! She's smiling from ear to ear, trust me!

Lynny wanted McDonalds, AGAIN. I swear we feed her real food. The indoor playground is the reason she always chooses McDonalds, despite her argument that she just NEEDS their cheeseburgers.....

I've been doing some research on my back issue. From what I can gather (I am no doctor, nor do I claim to be. My best friend is a nurse- that is as far as my medical training goes), I think I have had a muscle spasm, or two, that has caused the pain. Also from what I can tell, it is due to the fact that I have weak core muscles. My core is my weak point, FOR SURE. I need to work on that. This summer, I plan to add a few of the workouts that this article from Runner's World suggests. They state, " To prevent back pain, you need to work on strength and flexibility all through your kinetic chain. Your spine and spinal muscles get lots of support from your core. In addition, tightness or weakness in your glutes, hips, quads, and hamstrings will impact the muscles in your lower back, putting more strain on those muscles and setting them up for a spasm."
These are the exercises they suggest adding to your routine to strengthen your core: 1. Planks 2. Back Extensions 3. Hip Raises 4. Reverse Hip Raises
5. Cobra
6. Swiss Ball Pikes
The article has descriptions of each of these movements. Definitely check it out!
I hope you all have an AWESOME Tuesday! See you tomorrow!!! 1. Do your doctor's appointments take forever?
2. Do you get pulled into the indoor playground trap?
3. What exercises do you incorporate to your running routine?
