Tuesday Topics and Guilty Pleasures

Happy Tuesday! We are playing a little lazy today since I'm still recovering from my marathon. I will say that I am surprisingly less sore than yesterday! I'm on the mend!

Yesterday was Paula's birthday, so I made sure to give her a big shout out ;)

My parents bought me a sticker for my new car at the race expo and I had Aaron put it on yesterday. I am very proud of it!!

We played outside for a few, and Lynny found a random sucker in her Daddy's car. She was pretty happy!

We took our pups for a walk. Lynny loves walking Clyde and he acts so much better (doesn't pull on the leash) like he does when we walk him. He is forever her favorite "buddy" and they are adorable together.

I stayed in my recovery socks for most of the day! My parents bought them for me, and I really believe they helped my legs recover from the marathon. I have zero pain in my legs now, mostly just in my back and hips. These are amazing!

Lynny and I ran an errand while Aaron mowed the yard. She loves the new car!

I found out this morning that I was last in my age group for the marathon. Not where I want to be, but that just means I for sure have to do one more marathon! Now to pick one! ;) Any suggestions??

After this marathon, I decided to indulge in some guilty pleasures :) Here are five things that I try to avoid during training that I happily take part in during my recovery week(s)!

1. Eating all the foods no matter the nutrition

This only applies for the first day or two after the marathon, then I try to rein myself in. Granted, during marathon training, I sometimes have the mentality of "I ran 20 miles today-I can eat whatever I want".. Not good! Today I have ate a much better breakfast than yesterday, which is a small win... I also had all the flavored coffee I wanted yesterday and the day before. Even a Frappuccino. I am not ashamed.

2. Being lazy

I have done zero productive things since the marathon. Zero. I shall keep this record for at least the next day or two, most likely ;)

3. Sleep

I have slept in past 9 since the marathon. Having a child that loves to sleep in helps with this. I don't know how I'd do if Lynnleigh wanted to wake up at 6 every morning. Thankfully we have both gotten plenty of sleep for the past two days ;)

4. Family time (not really a GUILTY pleasure, just a great pleasure)

Marathon training is TIME CONSUMING. So time consuming. I've taken the break from my runs to spend a little more time with my little family. Taking the dogs for walks, playing dolls, watching Sofia the First. It's nice to get a little more quality time with my favorite few people :)

5. Thinking about running

I have spent some time thinking of how I could have run this past marathon better. I know I should be excited for simply finishing, however, I can't help but think I could do better! I should be thinking positively, but I can't help but let myself think of the what ifs. What if I rolled my knee? What if I spent some time stretching before the race instead of STANDING IN THE RIDICULOUS POTTY LINE? Things like that. I try not to dwell on it, but I let myself think of them for a little bit and work them out in my head.

Guilty pleasures reward you for all the hard work, and I will partake ;)

I hope you have a great Tuesday!

What has been your favorite marathon?

What are your guilty pleasures?

What do you miss most during the training for a race?
