Happy Tuesday!!

I CANNOT wait to get this day started! I have two track workouts planned for in the morning, one for a friend and one for myself! Then I'll be heading home to do a little work and back out to meet a client! This coaching thing is a dream come true!

Yesterday started with lots of work for Red's Running. I'm sure glad I started this in the summer so that I can devote a lot of my time to it. It would be a lot more difficult if I was having to go to work (and school- I'm currently getting my Ed.S.) while starting this. At least by doing it during the summer, I can get my feet on the ground and figure the glitches out and try to somewhat understand what I'm doing!

I had a smoothie for breakfast. It consisted of half of a frozen banana, a scoop of my favorite protein powder, and one cup of almond milk. I usually put a tablespoon of peanut butter in it, too, but I forgot it this morning. Oh well, it was still yummy!

I went for a two mile run. I told myself about a quarter of a mile in that I needed to run by feel, not stare at my watch the whole time. I get obsessive about numbers very easily. So I just ran. I did two miles in 18:04.9. That's a 9:02 pace. It wasn't hard, it was just comfortable.

I had negative splits (very easy to do when you only run two miles ;) Ha!), but they were SUPER negative. The first mile was a 9:27, the second was an 8:36.

Usually I am pretty steady, but this time I wasn't. Either way, I felt good after and even stretched (something I skip often- I know, bad decision! I'm fixing it!).

Aaron needed us to spend a few more dollars to get an extra 30 cents off per gallon of gas at our local grocery store. Since I needed to spend about 15.00, but didn't really NEED anything, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to get more Halo Top ice cream! It is expensive, and I usually only get it when it is on sale or as a treat, but I got three this time. Ha! I also grabbed a few other things... Not the healthiest grocery store trip ;)

I came home and fixed a FANTASTIC lunch. It was an open faced quesadilla (is that even a thing? It just had one tortilla... so that's what I called it). Peppers and onions and chicken and some cheese. Heaven. I even added some hummus. I love that stuff!

Someone came home for lunch. This is the face you make when you get caught wiping all of your crumbs off the table onto the floor instead of into a napkin to throw in the trash......

And the face when you're trying to act like you didn't do it....

After Aaron left I went and picked Lynny up from my in-laws. She had a blast! She wanted a picture of us with her dancing ;)

I told her she should probably take a nap... she put herself to sleep, y'all. What am I suppose to do about that?? She didn't want to be rocked. She didn't want me sitting in the room. I thought she would get up to play or goof around since I had left the room like she asked... Nope. She went to sleep. When did she grow up?!?!

She woke up and we played Lincoln Logs (or as she calls them, Winkon Wogs... I love it). Then we went outside, because that's where Lynny would live if we would let her.

We went to visit my parents for a bit, then Aaron came home. We made grilled cheese and tomato soup for Aaron and Lynny and I had some chicken with zucchini and onion (and three olives. I love olives...). Aaron reminded me that Dairy Queen brought back the cotton candy Blizzard... my FAVORITE, so we had one. I ate half of mine and I couldn't eat the rest, so Aaron ate it. His was really runny and not very tasty, so he was happy to take mine off my hands.

Then it was bath time and bed time for all of us! We all have busy days tomorrow filled with work, playing with friends, and coaching!

I thought today I would share my favorite apps for running!

1. Garmin Connect Obviously, since I love my watch, I would love this app! It is easy to use and allows me to examine TONS of information about a run! I can also have challenges with other Garmin users- always fun! It even lets me examine my sleep patterns! Even though I already know I don't get enough ;) Someone let Lynny know that that I need more sleep, will ya?

I have this attached to my Garmin, as well, and can keep up with all kinds of things. I have some friends on there, too, that don't have a Garmin, so it's a way to keep up with them as well. One thing I did LOVE about this app before I switched to a Garmin (my first running watch was a Nike Running Watch- I loved it, but only used it when I ran. It was BULKY!) was the fact that I could record what shoes I wore during each run, making it easy to see when I needed to buy new ones based on how many miles my current ones had!

This isn't necessarily a running app, but it's good for your health. If I need to eat more carbs today because I have a long run tomorrow, this app helps me control and keep track of that. The barcode scanner is so convenient. I haven't come across a food that hasn't been in the database, and I've been using it FOREVER. Literally probably 5 years, which feels like forever ;)

I use this to make routes so that I can tell my family where I plan on running. If they see that I am not on that path, I usually get a message or two ;) It also allows me to pre-plan long runs. It's really nice to not have to worry about how far you need to run out this road or that road to get your mileage. By using this app, I already know how far I need to go!

I like using my iPod, but having the ability to use Pandora and get TONS of different music with one click is awesome. It's nice to be able to change it up every now-and-then, maybe you need angry music to run faster during a track workout? Just switch stations! I do hate that when I lose service, I lose Pandora, but other than that, it's awesome!

I hope you all have an awesome Tuesday!
