Thursday Throw Down

Good Thursday morning, everyone!!

Yesterday was a busy day for Red's Running! It started out with a track workout (the one I thought was suppose to be Tuesday...) with a client. It went REALLY well! She killed it! I had fun seeing her do even better than she expected!

After that, I made it just in time to watch Lynny's gymnastics class! She was the only one in her class, so it was a one-on-one session and she did awesome! Her instructor let her jump in the foam pit- her favorite!

As soon as we got back from gymnastics, I needed to get my long run in. Lynny begged for me to push her, so I did.

I was planning on 8ish miles. We started at the part of the trail that meant we'd have a little under four miles UPHILL for the first half of the run. It sucks anytime, but especially when you're pushing a stroller... in the middle of the day... when it's BLAZING HOT outside... I made it to the head of the trail where Paula was waiting on me. She wanted a shorter run so she met me at my halfway point. She pushed Lynny, which saved me. I had to walk a little bit. My back pain is still there. Even with the walking we did, I still managed a 10:42 pace.

Lynny wanted to run, so we got her out of the stroller for the last half of a mile. She ran/walked/played tag. She also fell and was too injured to walk the rest of the way to the car. Games of tag are taken seriously by this little girl. Injuries happen often ;)

It was SO HOT. I looked like I just got out of the shower! Ha!

When I got home, Aaron had bought me an iced coffee. Perfect. In every single way!

Lynny took a nap and I took a little one as well. Then it was time to meet my newest client back at the trail for our initial meeting! She did REALLY well and I can't wait to see her fall in love with running!! I'll be working on her plan today!

I met Aaron and Lynny over at his parents' house for dinner (delicious!) and some fun time on the farm for Lynny.

Aaron requested ice cream on our way home. In case you missed the post, our FAVORITE Blizzard is back and I cannot contain my excitement! I do need to limit myself compared to last summer. I swear I had one ever day. Every. Single. Day. They are my favorite thing ever. These really hit the spot. Cotton Candy for the win!

Lynny's all about that hot fudge ;) And she was completely worn out! We thought, she was right back at it after that ice cream! Ha!

Today's Thursday Throw Down, unfortunately, is a product made by my beloved Brooks company. The LSD Running Jacket is suppose to be a great rain jacket. I, however, feel like I'm running in a cheap trash can liner when I wear it. It sticks to my skin. It has NO ventilation, so it is SO HOT when I run in it. You all know I love Brooks. They are literally my favorite running company. I have bought their shoes for well over 5 years, but they dropped the ball on this one.

I am not a fan of this jacket. I will be looking for another rain jacket (besides my LaBoo ones... I don't want to get them all smelly and sweaty... ha!) to run in!

Congrats to Laura on winning the LaBoo tank!!! Go give your order to the girls! ;)

I hope everyone has a GREAT THURSDAY! See ya tomorrow!

What do you do to defeat the heat when running?

What is your favorite ice cream?

Do you have a favorite running jacket?
