Happy Monday, y'all! I hope you aren't too upset to have to go back to work ;)

I hope you enjoyed your Father's Day yesterday! We sure had fun!

Lynny and I picked my parents up for church and went to the early service. Our church had a car show for the Dad's outside since it was Father's Day. We looked around at the cars a little, went to our church service, and then headed to take Scotty out to lunch and to his surprise!

Lunch was at the Texas Roadhouse! SO yummy! I got the Prime Rib- my favorite!!

Then I took Scotty to our local shoe store, Fleet Feet, to be fitted for new tennis shoes! I HIGHLY recommend going here to be fitted. They are awesome!

He REALLY needed new ones!

He loved them! Father's Day was a success!

After we dropped them off, we headed home and took a nap while Aaron finished his sleeping for the day (he's still on nights). We hung out with him for a few until he had to go back in for the night.

I do love me some naps!

I made Lynny and I dinner. We split a pizza and some tater tots with some fruit. I bribed her with 50 cents to eat a blueberry. She ate it, took the money, and said it was awful. Something is wrong with that kid ;)

Then we went out for ice cream with my parents at the "pink ice cream store", as Lynny calls it. We love ice cream!

We took Aaron a coffee after- we are good to our Daddy ;)

Then it was back home for the night! We played "castles" aka legos!

A lack of pictures means that the phone stayed up for most of the day again, which means more time for family!

Many people talk about what the think about during a race, I've put together a little list of the way my thinking usually goes during a half marathon ;)

So without further adieu...

13.1 Things You Think During a Half Marathon

Mile 1 LOOK at all these smiling people!!! We are just getting started and we are all having SO MUCH FUN! Signing up for this race was the best decision I've ever made!

Mile 2 That mile was EASY, and look at all my new runner friends enjoying this race with me! Runners are the best! We all have such a sense of community! Best. Sport. Ever.

Mile 3

Wow! Only 10 left! Those first three were a piece of cake! I bet I'll PR on this course! How great would that be?!? My new SMART goal: PR my half marathon time at THIS race TODAY! Gosh I'm going to CRUSH this!

Mile 4

I better fuel! I don't want to hit the dreaded wall, especially when this race is already going SO WELL for me! Yummy Yummy GU!!! I better take a drink, too. You know what they say! "If you wait to drink until you're thirsty, you're too late!"

Mile 5

I'm halfway to Mile 10! After that I just have a 5K left! This is SO easy!

Mile 6

Wait, what is that pain I feel on the bottom of my foot? Is that a pebble? Well, I'm doing too great now to stop for a tiny pebble, that's for sure! I need to get my mind on something else....

Mile 7

Man it got hot. Oh! Look! A water station! Those volunteers are so nice! Why, thank you, kind stranger! I WILL have a glass of that fine H20 you're serving at this nice establishment! I better fuel again, too. NO wall for me!

Mile 8

My legs hurt. Like a lot. Why didn't they warn me that this was a hilly course? I mean, it MAY have PROBABLY been in the course description online in the 4 different places this race was advertised, but who REALLY reads those?? Note to self: Read future descriptions before blindly signing up for a race........

Mile 9

When did this rock get so big? How am I suppose to run FOUR MORE MILES with this sucker in my shoe???

Mile 10

Hello, Wall... Nice to see ya... It's been a lonnnggg tiiiiiiiiiiimeeeee...........

Mile 11

Ok. Ok. Just 2.1 more miles left... I can do this... I can do this...

Positive thinking will surely get me through this...

Mile 12

Holy cow. There is a boulder in my shoe. A. BOULDER. Just call me "Colorado"...

Mile 13

Last mile. Then just a tenth of a mile left. I may actually survive this. I'll NEVER do another one, and definitely not THIS ONE. I'm done. I'm hot, I'm sore, I grew a boulder. I'm done.

Mile 13.1

Oh HI, again, strangers at the finish line!!! You're right! I can do this! I DO look strong! I AM A MACHINE! Watch me GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I did it! I finished!! When is the next one?!?!

That's about how every half marathon goes for me ;)

I hope you all have a great day! Check back tomorrow and don't forget to enter the contest!!!

What did you do for Father's Day?

Do you love ice cream?

What are your thoughts during a half marathon?
