Tripping Tuesday

I can't even type that title without laughing out loud. If you follow me on Instagram (@redmotherrunner), you know why...
Yesterday was a relatively quiet day. I went to work and got that out of the way. Nothing too exciting happened, other than the typical Monday issues (late, forgot things, etc.).
I decided instead of running around the roads near work, I'd head to the trail nearby and run. I love trail running. Paula and I have talked about how we need to do most of our running on the roads simply because our races are on them. It's really hard on your body running a longer race on the road when you've only trained on trails...
BUT, I ran 7.1 miles Sunday, all on roads, and I figured a trail run would help my body recover some from that.
So I messaged my parents and told them where I was going. They are on my Live Track through Garmin, so they can keep an eye on me while I run. I didn't know if it would work where I was going- there isn't much service out there. They told me to be careful... yep. Always am!

My workout looked like this (remember I'm training by heart rate right now, so the zones refer to that):
5 minutes Zone 1
5 minutes Zone 2
4 x (2 minutes Zone 4/2 minutes Zone 1)
5 minutes Zone 1
It is Speed Play Run 3 in the 80/20 book.
It looked really fun, so I was excited.
1 minute into my 5 minutes of Zone 2, I fell. Hard.
I really wish I had a video. I'm pretty sure if anyone saw me they would have died laughing.
My hand looked a little rough...

My knees were a little scuffed up...

I finished my run, my hand was hurting a bit, not my knees, so I figured I was fine.
I washed my hands when I got to the sitter's house and it didn't look as bad. I couldn't get the black out. Paula said if I didn't, it would be a permanent mark- she has seen it before...

So when I got home I scrubbed... to the point I was almost in tears. Didn't work.
I soaked it, didn't work.
SO I put some ointment on it that I have from my DoTerra days and wrapped it and went to bed... This is what it looks like today.

Oh well. Tattoo it is!
I also feel like I hit brick wall. I must have fell harder than I thought. But, I'm fine. I'll run again tomorrow. Good thing today is a rest day ;)
I didn't really have my phone on me much last night so there aren't many pictures. I just hung out, fixed dinner, and then went to bed. My parents brought me some bandages, I think they were a bit worried about me. The bandages were awesome. I'm wearing one again today- hopefully they help!
I hope you all have a great Tuesday. Remember to pick up your feet ;)
Have you ever fallen while running?
Got any suggestions to get the cuts clean when scrubbing and soaking don't work??
